we all need meaningful friendships built on platonic love to feel whole
our mission is to help people embrace more platonic love in their lives.
everyone who uses friend zone agrees to a set of community values and policies. before you go on your first friend date, you agree to be:
open.
you feel ready to put yourself out there and meet new people.
safe.
you use your best judgment, only do things that you’re comfortable doing, and report anything that doesn’t feel aligned with our community values.
honest.
you’re ready to be real and authentic with others, so you can genuinely connect.
respectful.
you respect other people’s time, beliefs, boundaries, and lived experiences.
inclusive.
you treat people with dignity, and you understand that we have a zero-tolerance policy for all forms of discrimination.
kind.
you’re empathetic to the fact that, just like you, everyone who’s meeting a potential new friend might be feeling a little vulnerable.
health-first.
you prioritize health and well-being, and you don’t meet someone if you’re not feeling well enough to do so, whether mentally or physically.
it felt like a great date out of nowhere with a platonic, wonderful person that I can’t wait to hang out with again.”

hi! i’m lindsey (she/her), and i started friend zone when i realized i wasn’t the only one having a hard time making friends.
as an introvert with social anxiety, putting myself out there felt really hard. I tried some friend-making apps, but they felt like a game of judging people based on little information.
that’s why i decided to start friend zone — a place where all of us can meet new people in an authentic way, and see that none of us are alone in wanting more genuine friendships.
"it worked! it’s so rare these days to meet someone without already knowing about their life because you’ve been following them or following their friends."
